"I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which has sent me” - John 5:30
A child should do nothing on His own without the consent of His parent. In the same way, as children of God we should not do anything without the consent of our Father in heaven.
Jesus never did anything without the consent and authority of our Father in heaven. All that He did and all that was appointed to Him was done in accordance to the will of the Father.
His purpose was to do the will of the Father who sent Him, not to promote His own agenda. He was in perfect fellowship with the Father, totally inseparable, as it should be with every child of God.
Although you have been called, ordained and sent by God, you are still expected to consult with Him for His consent before making decisions, to make sure you are in sync with His will. “Should I go” was the question David asked before moving against their enemies (II Samuel 5:19-25).
If you are making decisions without consulting with God, how do you know you are still in sync with His plans for your life? Are you working your agenda or God’s plan?
