"See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise” – Ephesians 5:15
When you are trying with every effort you have to keep up with the things of the world, rather than using that same effort to doing all you can to walking according to God’s word, you can become a stumbling block to the winning of souls to the cross of salvation.
If you do not value and honor the principles of the faith you profess to have, how can you expect for the world to believe in something you yourself do not value and honor?
You may be very devoted in attending church services and prayer meetings, and even in the observance of certain traditions or lifestyle practices, but all of these outward portrayals of devotion to religion are of little worth in the eyes of the world, unless they see it practiced in your life.
Who you are in front of the sanctuary is who you are expected to be when you are away from the sanctuary, even in your dealings with the world. They judge the church not by what they read in books, and not by what they profess out of their mouth, but by what they see with their own eyes which is whether or not your walk is consistent with what you professed out of your mouth.
So walk before the world with a motive to win unbelievers to Christ by the life you live through Christ. This you can accomplish when you walk according to the standards of a Christian lifestyle as laid out in the word of God.
