“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way” – Psalm 37:23
Before setting out on His daily journey, Jesus would voluntarily make the sacrifice to rise early in the mornings to meet with His Father in prayer. He would to talk with Him and be ready to receive instructions from Him as to the way He is to go and the work He was to do in the day ahead (Mark 1:35).
Are your steps being ordered by the Lord? Do you know the direction He would have you to take and the work he would have you to do? Are you allowing Him to give you instructions for the day ahead? Should you go right or straight ahead? Or should you stay right where you are?
If our Lord and Savior found it necessary to meet with the Father in the mornings before going out into the world, how much more important would it be for you to do the same?
Before you head out into the world, before you begin to dive into the daily issues of life, spend some time in prayer with the Father in Heaven to find out the direction He wants you to go, and what He would have you to do - not just for today, but every day. And then make every effort to faithfully go in the steps He has ordered for you to take.
In our lives we can do without many things, but we cannot do without the guidance of God in a world that is getting darker and darker every day.
