“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” – James 1:22
Many Christians hear the Word of God time after time, and are even excited by what they hear. But they will not apply the Word of God to their life, because they have no desire to change their lifestyle, behavior and conduct. What they do not realize is that they are walking in the opposite direction of truth, rather than pleasing their Father in Heaven.
Anytime you choose to do things your way when you are told to do it a certain way, you are out of compliance and in contradiction of a command or instructions given to you through the Word of God.
To please the Lord, you must not only hear His Word, you must be a doer of His Word. You must walk in the truth. And if you are truly walking in obedience to God’s Word, it will be witnessed through your life as one who truly loves and honor the Lord. Furthermore, obedience to God’s word will be the very reason He will cause you to be prosperous in every area of your life.
“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” – Psalm 1:3
If you desire to have a prosperous and successful life by God’s standards, be a doer of His word to the letter, and the Lord’s richest blessings will be yours according to His Divine wisdom in all other areas of your life.
The man who purposely, deliberately and consistently study to know the truth in God’s Word, and then walks in that truth, he’s the man who is on his way to having a healthy and prosperous soul.
