"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also you are called in one body, and be you thankful" - Colossians 3:15
The wall that once stood between the Jews and Gentiles has been broken down by the blood of Jesus. He is now the peace that binds two nations together as one community having all things in common, even access to the same Father in Heaven.
Ephesians 2:14 "For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us.”
Ephesians 2:19 – “now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God."
It is now a peaceful union of which God has called believers of Christ into. But, if believers of Christ live in contention with one another, how can the world know peace, if peace is not in the church?
With the peace of God ruling in your heart it will govern your actions and responses to circumstances and situations. It will keep you quiet, calm and disciplined in the midst of strife, confusion and controversial situations. And if you must answer a strife starter, peace will respond with calmness as to not add more fuel to the fire.
Although the promotion of peace may be your choice, it can be beyond your control to promote if it is not the choice of others. Pray that the peace of God may rule in the hearts of the members within Christ’s church. Where peace of God cannot rule, disruption and disorder will take over.
