“Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” - Luke 21:14-15
There has never been, nor will there ever be anyone who is so well qualified to instruct, comfort and encourage as our Savior Jesus Christ. He had “the intelligence to speak suitable words” at any time, and in any circumstance or occasion. He was always ready and prepared because He would make the sacrifice to rise early in the mornings to meet with His Father in prayer to talk with Him, be taught by Him, and to receive instructions for the work He was to do in the day ahead (Mark 1:35).
Although we can never be exactly like Jesus, we can follow His example. We can have “the intelligence to speak suitable words” in any circumstance or occasion, especially if we are confronted with mischief, confusion starters and instigators. The Holy Spirit can teach us how to properly respond with suitable and timely words that are peaceful, yet powerful and persuasive, that it will confound the face of an enemy.
Have you always said the right things that were suitable in circumstances or special occasions? Wouldn’t you like to have the “intelligence to speak suitable words” that would point people to Christ and glorify God?
Make the sacrifice to meet with the Father in the mornings before heading out into the world. If our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ found it important to meet with His Father in the early mornings, and was determined to consistently doing this, how important would it be for you to do the same?
