"If you then have been risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" - Colossians 3:1-2
The world in which we now live is so full of attractive and desirable things that it is hard to focus on the things that matter. What we see is what we want, and what we want, we want it now.
Since we are born again believers in Christ and have been raised with Christ, pursuing after the things of this world should no longer be our sole purpose in life. These things are temporary and will soon pass away. They will be of no purpose, no profit and no value to the kingdom of God.
This doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy the things God has blessed us with in this world, but rather we should not be primarily focused on pursuing after these things, and to gaining more and more of these things. We should be focused on gaining the "bigger and better things" that are waiting for us in the world where we will dwell with our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus forever.
As Christ has ascended up into heaven, let your thoughts and your desires ascend there also. Set your mind on the "bigger and better things" that are in heaven, things that will bring a profitable, invaluable and non-perishable return. Things that cannot be obtained in this world.
Pursue after the “bigger and better things" that are in heaven, and let it be the sole purpose of your life in Christ, while you are here in this temporary and perishable world.
