“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us…” – Ephesians 2:4
The love God has for his people is like a magnetic force that is holding, binding and much stronger than the bond of a mother and her child. No matter what happens, no matter how imperfect we are, no matter how many mistakes we make, or how many times we’ve messed up, God just keeps on loving us. His love is without limits, or stipulations.
In fact, He loved us so much, that He gave His Only Son to be sacrificed for the salvation of a dark world, destined for destruction - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). This is the Ultimate and Unlimited Love of the Almighty God in Heaven. He gave what no man could ever give or sacrifice for the redemption of man's soul.
This is love beyond our own interpretation of love – A LOVE WITHOUT LIMITS, a love of which we cannot conceive, for it shows the height and depth of the love of the “Almighty and Exuberant God.” Should you not have this kind of love for our Father in Heaven? A LOVE WITHOUT LIMITS OR STIPULATIONS?
Genuine love for a merciful and compassionate God will not be based on the blessings and favors you receive from Him. But rather, it is an unchangeable love, that even when he does not grant you favors, or the desires of your heart, you will still love Him. Most of all, because the excellence of His character is infinitely worthy of love.
