“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time” – Colossians 4:5
One thing the world knows is whether believers in Christ are walking consistently with their profession. They judge the life of a believer not by what they read in books, and not by what is professed out of the mouth, but by what they see with their own eyes.
You may be very devoted on the day of fellowship or at prayer meetings, and very strict in the observance of certain traditions or lifestyle practices, all of these outward portrayals of devotion to religion mean nothing in the eyes of the world, unless they see it practiced in your life. Who you are in the sanctuary is who you are expected to be when you are away from the sanctuary.
If you cheat on your taxes, your profession means nothing - if you are sexually active, your profession means nothing - if you are a continual user of filthy language, your profession means nothing. If you do not value and honor the principles of the faith you profess to have, how can you expect the world to believe in something you do not value and honor yourself?
Do not be a stumbling block to the leading of souls to the cross of salvation because you are trying to keep up with the standards of the world, when they hope to see something different than what they know is already in the world.
Live life in Christ according to the lifestyle expected of children of God, being ready at every opportunity to witness to those who do not know Christ.
