"Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers” - III John 1:2
Good health is something a lot of us take for granted, until we start to lose it. God cares not only about our souls, but also about our bodies. The body is a temple of the Holy Ghost, and should not be defiled by sin which destroys the soul or foods which can destroy the physical body – “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (I Corinthians 6:19).
And even if the foods you eat are good, too much of it can be hurtful to your body – “Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it” (Proverbs 25:16a).
Within the pages of the bible, God reveals many basic principles for good physical, mental, and spiritual health. But the choice to follow His prescription and reap the benefits is yours to make. If you choose not to take care of your health, you will not be able to function properly. And how can you glorify God in your body, and be fit for the service of the Lord if your body is not in good health?
Eating the right foods along with light movements or exercises of the body as prescribed by your doctor, will in return keep your mind, body and soul vibrate, ready to work and ready to produce results.
Do what you can to be healthy and fit for the service of the Lord.
