“I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown” – Jeremiah 2:2
Do you remember the first time you fell in love with God? It is amazing how when a man first loved God, he is willing to serve Him with his whole heart, mind and soul. In his effort to show his appreciation for being brought out of darkness and into a marvellous light, he is willing to present his body as a living sacrifice to God, and to do whatever it takes to retain his relationship with Him. But somehow in the midst of having been freed from the slavery of sin and receiving bountiful blessings from the hand of the Lord, the Father in Heaven is forgotten.
When God has done great things for a man, and has been there for that man, how can he be forgotten? If somehow in the midst of all you are doing and all you have received from the hand of God, you have forgotten the Father in Heaven, stop what you are doing, find a private place and pray.
Ask God to forgive you and thank Him for all he has done and for all of His blessings. Let Him know that it is not your intention to forget about Him, for without Him you could do nothing. Ask Him to help you to keep your mind on Him and to focus on the things in heaven.
From this moment on, if it is sincerely your desire to always remember the LORD, do all you can to keep your mind on the LORD and to involve Him in every area of your life.
