“…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” – Matthew 22:37-38
Jesus without question truly loved His Father with His all that he devoted Himself entirely to serving Him without any reservation at all. This was evident in every area of His life and in all that He did.
Despite betrayals from friends, plotted conspiracies and sufferings for the wrong doings of others; Jesus was fully devoted and committed to His Father in Heaven and the work He was called to do, even up to His last day on earth while hung on an old rugged cross waiting to die.
How about you? Are you entirely devoted to serving the Lord? Are you a living sacrifice?
In Romans 12:1, Paul the Apostle describes the body as a “living sacrifice” that must be presented holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”
This means making a conscious, willing and voluntarily decision to devoting all of yourself for the worship of God and his sacred service – all of your heart, mind and soul, just as Jesus did. As Paul the Apostle stated above - it is your reasonable service. It would be the proper thing to do. And yet, it is entirely up to you.
Consider devoting yourself entirely to the service of God for His glory, just as Jesus voluntarily gave all of Himself for the salvation of your soul.
What is preventing you from entirely devoting yourself to your Father in Heaven?
