“Let no man despise your youth, but be you an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" – I Timothy 4:12
Are you a role model? Paul the Apostle had advised Timothy a young minister, to act as becoming a minister of the gospel in all things, governing himself according to the principles given in the word of God, that he will be respected as a minister, and that the ministry would not be blamed, dishonored or disgraced. Although Paul was speaking to Timothy, this advice is applicable and advisable to all believers in Christ, whether you are a minister of the gospel, or not.
Every believer in Christ should live as examples of the gospel in every area of your life, that others may follow your example.
Your Way of Life should be with wisdom and integrity beyond the walls of the sanctuary, as well as in the sanctuary (Colossians 4:5, Ephesians 5:15).
Your Speech should be seasoned with grace and edifying that it may minister grace to the hearers (Ephesians 4:29, Colossians 4:6).
Your Love should be to all mankind without respect of person, regardless of their color, background, living status, position and what's in their wallet (James 2:1, Proverbs 28:21).
Your Relationship with others should be with no occasion for laying stumbling blocks, or starting scandals (I John 2:10).
We need Christian role models in our world today. Those who are willing to lead others by being an example themselves. How about you? – Are you willing to be a Christian role model within your family, your community, on your job and everywhere you go? Will you allow God to use you to make a difference in our world today?
