"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it…” – Solomon 8:7a
The love of a mother for her infant child is the strongest bond there is amongst men. But situations may arise where she is forced to decide whether to separate herself from that bond for an easier life, leaving the child alone to defend for himself, or in the hands of someone else. This can leave a child with mix feelings of emotions, abandonment and loneliness throughout his life.
But with God, no matter what happens, no matter how imperfect we are, no matter how many mistakes we make, and no matter the situation or circumstances, He will never be forced to abandon his children, nor His love to them.
The love God has for his children is like a magnetic force that is holding, binding and much stronger than the bond of a mother and her child. His love is unchangeable, without limits and never ends. Despite situations and circumstances, He keeps on loving us through mess ups, mistakes, hard times and good times.
Should you not have this kind of love for Him? A love that is unchangeable, unlimited and never ends despite situations and circumstances, and whether you are rich, poor or imperfect?
Genuine love for a merciful and compassionate God will not be based on the blessings and favors you receive from Him. But rather, it is an unchangeable love that even when he does not grant you favors, or the desires of your heart, you will still love Him.
