“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” Hebrews 11:5
The bible gave us a just little bit of history concerning Enoch, and then there is nothing else said about him.
“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” – Genesis 5:24
But before Enoch was taken, the bible tells us that he “walked with God’ in a manner that pleased God, which resulted in him having an honorable testimony. His life of obedience and faithfulness to God became an honorable testimony that was confirmed and commended by the word of God. It is an honorable testimony that is now shared with generations even to this day, that they may be encouraged to continue to be faithful in pleasing God in their own lives, as he did in his life.
Even though Enoch is not from our time, he has become one of the greatest absent teachers of our times, through his testimony of the life he lived before God. And this is a legacy that money of any amount cannot buy.
When you have done the best you could to walk pleasing in the sight of a Living and Holy God who has never let you down, never left you alone, and has blessed you in more ways you can count, you too will have an honorable testimony, a legacy that can be left for those who are left in the world.
Live your life walking with God, as expected of sons and daughters of God, that you may have an honorable testimony and a legacy that can inspire generations to follow your example.
