“I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel...” - Psalm 16:7a
God is an experienced counselor who always knows what to do in any circumstance, and will always give good advice that will help you and not hurt you, advice you will not be sorry or disappointed with its end result. He gives counsel on how we are to live our lives in Christ, how to handle difficult situations, and how to deal with our enemies.
On many occasions, the counsel he has given us was just to “wait.” Oh how difficult those times were when we needed an answer or resolution to an issue right away. Our waiting was to be an encouragement that he was working something out for our good. But when the waiting period expired, we found that it was well worth it, and the situation did work out for our good.
Reader, God is worthy of your blessings and praises today and every day for the many times he provided you with counsels that kept you out of harm’s way, that made your enemies your footstool, that helped you to make good decisions, and so much more.
Without the counsel of God, what would you do? How would you handle situations in your life? How would you deal with your enemies?
Take a moment to reminisce through your life, and you will realize that He has been A Wonderful Counselor who is worthy of your blessings, praises and thanksgiving from the fruit of your lips.
