“…Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment” – Matthew 22:37-38
In the life of Jesus, his devotion to doing the work of His Father was evident in every area of His life, and in all that He did. Despite betrayals from friends, plotted conspiracies and sufferings for the wrong doings of others; Jesus was fully devoted and committed to His Father in Heaven and the work He was called to do, even up to His last day on earth while hung on an old rugged cross, waiting to die.
Our Savior without question truly loved His Father with His all, that he would voluntarily give Himself entirely to serving Him without any reservation at all. How about you? Are you entirely devoted to serving the Lord? Are you a living sacrifice?
In Romans 12:1, Paul the Apostle describes the body as a “living sacrifice” that must be presented holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service. This means making a conscious, willing and voluntarily decision to devoting all of yourself for the worship of God and his sacred service – all of your heart, mind and soul just as Jesus did. As Paul the Apostle stated; it is your reasonable service.
It was love that moved the Father to sacrifice His Only Son, and it was that same love that moved Christ to willingly give his life for all mankind. Love should be the ultimate ground of which every believer in Christ willingly give all of themselves entirely to the service of God for His glory.
And yet, it is entirely up to you.
