Making Time to Draw Near to God

“But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works” – Psalm 73:28

In our lives we can do without many things, but we cannot do without God. We need Him in our lives, and in the world of which we now live. Only He knows what to do, and how to do it for the good of every individual and the world of which we now live; which is all the more reason why we should not be drawing ourselves closer to anything other than God Himself - there is no other.
 
But, if an individual, and the world of which we live wants to find comfort, peace, joy and even answers in someone or something else, they will soon find out, that it was a waste of time and energy, and of no profit.
 
When will people realize what they are looking for can never be found in anything and nobody else? When will the world realize the answers and solution of which they seek for world peace can be found in no other, but the name above all name, Jesus Christ the Savior who was sent for its healing and salvation – the name they keep refusing to acknowledge?
 
“Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” – Philippians 2:9
 
It would be a good thing for every individual creature of God, and the world of which we live to call upon the name of the Lord, to draw themselves closer to Him; not when it seems appropriate, not when trouble rises. It is always appropriate at any time to fellowship with the Lord, to draw closer to the Lord, to make time for the Lord and to talk with the Lord.
 
God wants to be a Loving Father to us, and guide us through this uncaring and unruly world of chaos. But how can He if he is constantly shut out, refused and ignored? We need help, the world of which we live need help, and who else is there that is better qualified for the job, than our Mighty God in Heaven?
 
Which one of your friends is better qualified to help you, lead and guide you, give you instructions, and to save you from the destruction that will come to this world? – There is no other. Who in this world is better qualified with providing answers as to what’s happening in our world? – There is no other. There is no other than the Lord God O Mighty, who sits high and sees all who are destroying themselves, and those who are destroying this world.
 
“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God” – Isaiah 44:6
 
The best solution for us all, both individually and as a world, is to draw near to God and hear what he has to say, to get an understanding as to what’s going on; why people do what they do, why the world is in the condition it is in, that we may be able to explain it to others. You can’t explain what you don’t understand yourself. But if you would just humble yourself, and make time to draw near to our God, you can know what He wants you to know. And then will you discover, that it is indeed a good thing to draw near to the God in Heaven.
