“The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing” - Psalm 34:10
_______________ While on the run from an army of enemies, David did not have the things he was accustomed to having as a King. He could have sought God for these things, especially since He was in an uncomfortable condition. But instead, what he wanted most, what he desired more than any other thing, was to seek the LORD, that he might be close to Him; for nothing could have satisfied him more. This is the desire of those who seek the LORD; you have a need for something, but recognize even in having those things, nothing is more satisfying then having God in your life, and being close to Him; because He is everything to you. What is life if it does not have God in it, if it is not filled with the presence of God, and if a man does not have fellowship with God? A man who loves and serves a good God, don’t want just anything – he wants the good thing God has for him, that is the best thing for him to have, for his spiritual life and for his survival in this earthly world; the good thing God will not withhold from them who express their love for Him through obedience of His word, and walk pleasing in His sight. Psalm 84:11 - For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. He is content with this, because He knows he could trust the LORD for whatever good thing is necessary for him to have from the hand of God. Furthermore, those who know the name of the LORD, and trust Him for provision and support, will be fed and satisfied with whatever is promised from the hand of God; for the LORD does not forget those who seek His face. Psalm 9:10 - And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee. This is what the LORD desires from each of His children – to seek his face, to be close to Him, to walk with Him, and to have a conversation with Him. But how unfortunate for the man who wants nothing more than to have the desires of his heart, rather than having more of God, because soon it all will be vanity, vanity, vanity! Ecclesiastes 6:11 - Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? Ecclesiastes 6:11-12 - Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? For who knows what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun? _______________ SUPPORTING SCRIPTURES _______________
