"And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS. Then said Mary unto the angel, how shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow you. Therefore, also that holy thing which shall be born of you shall be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:30-31, 34-35)
Conceiving a child in the womb sounds easy enough, but to conceive a child without a man -” how shall this be?” (Luke 1:34). How in the world could a virgin, who is the last person anyone would think God would use give birth to a child without a man? Mary, the mother of Jesus asked this question, not out of doubt, but in hopes of receiving further explanation as to how her assignment would be accomplished. Maybe you’re wondering the same thing about an assignment that has been given to you. But I ask you, is there anything too hard for the Lord? - “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27). You may not think you have what it takes to do what God has assigned for you to do, but the truth is, everything you need is already in you. If God did not think so, he would not have called on you in the first place. If you need further clarification as to how you will accomplish your assignment, just ask God. He will guide you in every step of the way just as He did with Noah in the building of the ark - "And this is the fashion which you shall make of it…" (Genesis 6:15a). Believe in yourself, as God believes in you. Remember the words of the angel that was said unto Mary - "Fear Not." ____________________ Copyright © Gale Wilcox/A New Day Ministries Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture passages quoted are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.
