"Behold, the hour comes, yes, is now come, that you shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me" (John 16:32).
Jesus told his disciples that the time had come for his death. He went on to say that they, those who had been him, those who had witnessed his teachings and miracles, those of whom he had taught and considered to be his friends would be scattered about leaving him alone in his time of crisis. Where are your friends in the darkest hour? Those who you thought would be with you through the ups and downs of life? Those who you thought would never abandon you when times get dark and gloomy? It doesn’t matter who has left you in your hour of darkness when God is with you. Jesus knew He could trust God as a friend who would never leave Him, even during times of heartaches, pain and suffering. So He believed that, even in his hour of darkness and despair, he was yet not alone. Let not friends who have left your side cause you to worry or have wavering faith. Although you may feel forsaken, despised or broken, you can find comfort in knowing that God is with you, even in the darkest moments of your life. ____________________ Copyright © Gale Wilcox/A New Day Ministries Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture passages quoted are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.
