"Give ear to my prayer, O God, and hide not yourself from my supplication. Attend unto me, and hear me, I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.” - Psalm 55:1-3
_______________ What do you do when you are being pressed and oppressed by enemies on every side? What do you do when you are too exhausted and weak to move or stand on your own? What do you do when you are desperately in need of deliverance? Fall on your knees and pray! From there, you can approach the throne of grace. From there you can cry "Abba Father," hear my cry and help me. But while you are there, no one seems to hear you. It appears your cry is being unheard. A feeling of deep affliction fills your soul at the sound of God's silence. You passionately plea with Him to not hide His face from you in your time of distress and desperation. But there is still no answer. Even though we may have access to the throne of grace, it doesn’t guarantee we will always be answered in times of disgrace when we need immediate grace (Hebrews 4:16). What do you do? - What do you do when you are so desperately in need of help? Stay and wait on the Lord until He answers. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart (Psalm 27:14). Do not faint, do not be dismayed, do not be depressed, and do not give up. If God does not help His people, where could we go? There is no one else who can help us like He can. There is no one else who can put a period at the end of an ongoing problem, like He can. Stay and wait patiently on God. Hold on while relying on His strength to help you stand against your adversaries, and keep believing that He will answer. Be of good courage comforted by these words – He has not forgotten you. He is working it out for you. ____________________ Copyright © Gale Wilcox/A New Day Ministries Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture passages quoted are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.
