"Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him” - Genesis 12:1-2 & 4a.
When Abraham was instructed by God to leave his home, he didn’t hesitate or make excuses. He got up and went not knowing what would be ahead on his journey.
Even though the Lord had promised Abraham a blessing if he went, it had to be Abraham’s faithful Love for God that caused him to get up and follow God with confidence and courage, without having the slightest idea where he was going. All he knew was, wherever the All Wise and Merciful God would lead him, it would lead him to the blessing God had promised him.
The blessings God has promised us cannot be gotten, if we do not trust Him enough to follow Him to the place where promised blessings awaits.
I know it’s easier said than done when we are actually faced with this kind of challenge - Should I go, or should I not go? Is this the voice of God, or the voice of the enemy trying to set me up?
The good thing about having a close relationship with the Lord is, we can talk to Him about anything, even those things we are unsure of.
Do you trust the Lord enough to go when He says go without any hesitation, questions and excuses? If you believe the LORD is leading you to follow him to a specific place, then get up and follow Him. Let Him take you on a journey that will lead you to the blessing he wants you to have.
