“For every man shall bear his own burden” – Galatians 6:5
Burdens are issues that weigh heavily on the mind, body and spirit. It can be a situation, circumstance or problem a person cannot get rid of. All of us will face some type of burden in our life, whether it be physical or spiritual. And there will be some burdens we will have to endure alone. Burdens no one else can bear for us.
Burdens can become very uncomfortable and unbearable. They can even bring tears to a man’s eyes. Most people think that their burdens are heavier than others. But if you are put in a room with other people and hear what they are going through and the issues they have been trying to deal with, you may find that the burden you are bearing is not as bad as you thought. Your burden may even start to feel lighter.
If it had not been for the burdens we’ve had to struggle to carry on our own, the disadvantages they brought, and the unfavorable conditions they placed us in, we would not be the person we have become. Some burdens have made us stronger, better and wiser. They have shaped us into the man or woman God desires for us to be.
If you are struggling with an issue that has become too heavy to endure, let God help you. Although no one else can help bear the burden, God will help you. He can strengthen you to bear the burden, and give you rest from the anxiety, distress and depression of having to endure it alone.
