INTRODUCTION
__________ The church of our Savior Jesus Christ could not come into existence until after Christ's death, resurrection, ascension, and sending of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2 records the coming of the Holy Spirit, which marked the beginning of the church in fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy and promises. Matthew 16:18 – “And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Christ’s church is not a building or organization. Christ’s church consists of a collective body of people from all nationalities, culture and color - whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, who have received Christ into their life as the one and only true Savior of a man’s soul, and as the one and only way to eternal life. John 14:6 - Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. I Peter 2:9-10 – “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.” Discover for yourself what the bible says about “The Church of Our Savior Jesus Christ.” While this may not be an exhaustive reference on the subject, it is intended to bring awareness of what God’s word says and teaches that you may know the truth, and be encouraged to study His word for yourself. _____________ 1.
